Free mediation for disputed home insurance claims
If you and your insurer disagree on a home damage claim of $500 or more after the deductible, the state can set up a mediator. The insurance company pays the fee. Neutral evaluation is available for sinkhole claims.

National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) claims
Regular home insurance does not cover flood. If you have flood insurance, report your loss to your flood insurer or agent right away and photograph damage before cleanup. Call NFIP if you don't know who your flood insurer is.

If your home or auto insurance company has gone insolvent, FIGA handles covered claims. Call to report a claim against an insolvent insurer.
